Linen and Liberty Pincushion Workshop
One of Anna's first and most beloved handmade creations were her sweet Liberty and Linen embroidered pincushions - most commonly featuring an embroidered Queen Bee in the centre, surrounded by a garden of tiny Liberty-covered hexagons.
Each pincushion Anna makes features linen, embroidery and Liberty London fabrics, used in a variety of ways to create wreath-like motifs. In this workshop, you will learn how to make these divine little pincushions from start to finish, using English paper piecing, applique and embroidery.
Class price includes a complete kit which contains a Queen Bee embroidery design (Anna draws each of these designs by hand) on a pre-cut and stabilised linen circle, the pincushion base, a gorgeous selection of Liberty London tana lawn fabrics, a little bit of stuffing and hexagon papers. Your kit also includes a pattern with a number of design variations, so that you can personalise your pincushion however you wish.
You are also welcome to adapt your kit to a design which features a central Liberty London motif, surrounded by an embroidered wreath design, and Anna hand-draws these for you on the day to suit your style. Both pincushion designs are shown in the photographs in this workshop listing.
Additional kits will also be available to purchase on the day.
Please note that due to the popularity of this class and the amount of time needed to prepare materials, refunds will not be issued if you wish to withdraw from the workshop. However, at the artist's discretion, you may be able to move your booking to another class (only one transposal of booking permitted).
